Organic food - what is it? How to distinguish it?
What is organic food, how do you differentiate it from conventional food and how do you not fall into the organic trap?
Our society is increasingly aware of the impact of proper nutrition on health, quality and longevity. There are more and more “eco”, “organic”, “organic” goods in the food market that are said to improve our well-being, increase vitality, prevent and even cure diseases.
The shelves of health food stores are full of products that until recently sounded completely foreign to us. Today, however, for most of us, products like Spanish sage, expanded amaranth, milk thistle, Himalayan salt, coconut oil to supplement the daily menu.
The range of goods under the term healthy nutrition is becoming wider and wider, so what to look out for when shopping? At this point I would like to come back to the concept of organic food.
First of all, let's recall that the only certificate of organic origin of a product is a corresponding certificate (white leaf on a green background).
Natural food stores usually also offer conventional products.
What do we gain by buying certified organic food?
First of all, a guarantee that no artificial fertilizers and pesticides are used in crop production, and no antibiotics, growth hormones and other substances increasing production efficiency in animal husbandry. Organic food must not be genetically modified, this also applies to the feed that is fed to the animals.
At the next stage of processing, no artificial preservatives, stabilizers, flavor and aroma enhancers may be added to organic food.
This gives the consumer the least processed product with a natural wealth of valuable ingredients - vitamins and minerals, but without fiber - residues of crop protection products, chemicals, preservatives. Thanks to this, our body can maximally absorb the most valuable thing in the product, without dealing with detoxification and removal of harmful substances.
Organic farming also makes an important contribution to the protection of biodiversity, ensures animal welfare, high biological quality of the products, does not pollute the environment, is therefore economically and ecologically sustainable.
Watch your health
Today, when obesity and diet-related diseases have become an epidemic, the need to pay attention to the quality of daily food seems obvious. The reach for Food from controlled cultivation certainly guarantees this to a large extent. So maybe paying more for a good product is better than buying cheaper, highly processed foods? Maybe it will save medicines in the future? :)
